I am a clinical psychologist, member of the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec. I completed my PhD at University of Montreal and my bachelor's degree at Concordia University. I practiced for 5 years as a student and doctoral candidate before getting my licence as a clinical psychologist in 2018.
Despite a marked preference for the approach of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), I use an integrative approach where transparency, authenticity and client-therapist collaboration are paramount. I try to adjust my approach according to my clients' needs by establishing a relationship of trust with them.
I tend to use easy to visualize/understand metaphors to illustrate my points or my understanding of your issues. I will also openly use humour to relieve stress and discomfort during therapist, when appropriate. I will not hesitate to share personal stories or insight when it is necessary/relevant.
Psychotherapy is based on team work; we will work together to establish your objectives and find ways to help you meet your goals. Commitment to the process is key to see improvements: therapy creates movement, you will have ups and downs but with some work, you will learn to find balance.
I specialize in couples therapy and therapy for sexual and anxiety disorders. My clinical experience over the past five years includes:
Sexuality and sexual issues (painful intercourse for women and men, erectile dysfunction, lack of/low desire, sexual orientation and identity, sexual education, etc.)
Marital or relationship issues (infidelity, commitment, conflicts, ambivalence, etc.)
Anxiety and stress (stress management, social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD, performance, etc.)
Interpersonal difficulties, social skills
Management of emotions
Personal growth and development
I see both individuals (adults and young adults 20 years +) and couples either in French or English.
